Default asr on over bump

92 a4, Last night on my way to HS football game I hit a pretty good bump and my asr sys went active. While returning the same bump caused the same thing. My wife and I travel this same route alot and have never had this happen before last night. (at least she never said anything) I was wondering if anybody has had this happen to them or if someone could give me an idea what would cause this.
I have not had time to check for codes but I will do that today. Kinda doubt there will be codes as it seem to operate okay.
By the way it was totally dry, and I was not hard on the throttle nor was there anything that would cause tire spin.(sand)

I would take a good look at the wiring connectors to each wheel speed sensor and the harness itself for contact to the chassis. I would unplug each sensor and inspect for water or corrosion, to me it sounds like a wiring problem, good luck.

There is a lateral accelerometer (used to detect a yaw motion of the car) that also provides input to the ASR system. It's located just in front of the radio and the bump you hit may have been hard enough for it to register and send a signal to the ASR system.

If the speed sensor connectors check out OK, and the system works otherwise, you should be fine.

After some further research on alldata it appears that it may be normal.
They state that the sys may activate under light braking and cornering.
Has anybody heard of this?
Have not looked at the car, I am still at work.

Well I'm not convinced 100 percent because I have never seen it before.
However after reading that I think I will take a wait and see attitude.
Thank you for the suggestions.

Mine activates several times going in and out of driveways, into parking lots, etc. If it was a good sized bump as you indicate, I would think its normal.
