hmmm this looks like fun. For 100 bucks I should get one and put on my $100 S10 that I have just to see what happens. I could do a real world test

You just need to get those Mythbusters guys to try it out. Get some results without risking your own car and cash...

All jokes aside the link looks like they are driving a turbo with an electric motor. there is not alot of info on the sight but you should look at this site. http://www.turbomagazine.com/tech/04..._supercharger/ - 72k -
This guy thomas knight came up with a electric drive system for a roots type blower. He used 3 electric motors to drive the blower. According to the article he had some success with smaller engines but it really wasn't very practical or cost effective.

I have to put the timing set on, then check for valve clearance.

Then it's just assembly.

I hear the SR will be a PIA.

I figure another couple weeks. I'm pretty close. It's just assembly from here on.
Good Luck! Let us know how it turns out.

P. S. Just like me to hijack something worthless!

The electric SC is a bunch of bs. Every person with a decent knowledge about how EFI gasoline engines know not to get this, maybe except for some of some of the few ricers in town. I'm talking about the kids who think its right to mount aluminum spoilers on their mom or dad's FWD car. Heck, its actually better to mount a leaf blower pipe on the intake vs this garbage. I know there's a vid out there and a 200 mph leaf blower pressurising the intake gave a TBI 4.3L S10 40 something extra rwhp. Not too bad for a tiny gas powered 2 stroke motor force feeding air into a larger motor...

Default Some electric supercharger math

One amusing way to demonstrate what's wrong with the idea of an electronic supercharger is to do some sizing calculations. I'll be lazy and make some approximations rather than boring you with too much math.

Figure a ProCharger takes something like 7 to 15 hp to turn. That's about 5 to 11 kW, which means the motor would have to draw around 350 to 790 amps just to power a 100% efficient electric motor. So you'd need a motor about the size of your starter, probably larger. And imagine the size of the alternator and cables that would take...

Check out the above post as thats exatly what this Thomas Knight did.
Except he drove it with 3 snmaller motors and 3 batteries. The article looks to me to be serious and not just a blower fan thrown in the intake.

Yes, the Thomas Knight work is pretty serious. But it's about the only serious effort I've seen - most of the others are marine bilge blowers or similar devices.
