Burning Smell?

I've got an update with my exhaust. So far not much problems starting the car except it'll crank, stop, then crank and fire up at like 9.6 volts on the dash. I'm not sure if thats a bad sign for the starter or what. Anyway I noticed today when cruising down the highway I started smelling something burning. It was like it was oil or something. I'm not leaking any oil though. What could it be?

Its supposed to be like that? I only smell it after the car has warmed up a bit, which leads me to believe that something is being burnt up. Does the starter burn?

if I had to guess, oil on the header/collecters, from v.covers , intake leak/s
trans cable touching
exhaust touching something else that can melt/fry
