Timer Delay Module Location
I am trying to find the location of the Timer Delay module in my "85". I have a replacement, but are unsure as to its location. The Chevy Dealer doesn't even know where it is located. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's usually taped to the wiring harness behind the breadbox. It's hard to reach and see. I think I dropped my ECM to reach up under the dash to find it. It's not very big and if it's still in the stock location it is taped to the harness that runs horizontally across the dash.

Yup - far right corner of the dash behind the breadbox. Taking the dash pad off will get you there, or reaching up from below. I have the breadbox replaced with one of those flat dash panels (aftermarket) in Mine, so access in that area is a lot easier..
The delay in My '85 just died the other day - and no replacement module is (that I've been able to find) available Anyplace. I ended up soldering a jumper lead across the ground terminals on the old module so at least the interior lights work, off the door switches. No delay but at least Lights...
I did watch a used module sell on Ebay a couple of days ago - went for like $25 I think. Too much for a 20+ year old unit that is likely to fail any day now. Shame that Someone doesn't offer an aftermarket replacement. I wonder if any of the Ford/Mazda "theater" dimming stuff could be adapted to work. Hmmmm

IBypassing the module like you by grounding the switches is the best solution. I sometimes wait looking at the interior lights go off especially at night wondering if I left the headlight switch interior lights in the on position. I've killed the battery a couple of times thinking the delay module is going to turn off the light when I accidently left them on. I never really saw a need for the delay timer function.
