Hey fellas new to the C4s Ive had mine about 5 weeks. So far its alot of fun.One minor problem though.
My left headlight only spins up about 60%.Its enough to shine some light and drive but I was wondering is this a common prob. with C4s?Mine is a `95.Havnt had alot of time to look at it.
uncommon if NOT a problem...usual suspect is the ''three little pigs'' --nylon bushings in drive mechanism...$o.75 at sears hardware(cut to fit) or $10 + shipping online, 4 hr fix for virgins/ 20 minutes with experience...worn bushings in linkage (also sears hdw cut-to-fit) or bent linkage, sometimes.
Replace the 3 derelin bushings inside the gearbox on the motor. A cheap fix that you can do yourself in an afternoon and a six pack. Do both sides as the other will soon go as well.
Forget the delrin bushings unless you want to do the same repair every year. Use the correct size ball bearings, they will never wear out. You would be smart to change the white plastic gear at the same time because it is driven by a brass worm gear, who do you think will win that battle? The decision is up to you but I prefer to fix the thing 1 time, good luck, Cheeky. Oh, you can get the correct stuff from Art's Corvette Parts in Fort Lauderdale, their phone number is 954-763-1123.
