I'm running 12-15lbs boost on my built lt4 and was wondering that sence i stepped up the boost, do I need to upgrade the bypass valve or is the stock one with the vortech kit ok? advantages and disadvantages?
I'd step up to the vortech mini race one, minimum. It bolts right onto the flange of the discharge tube on the vortech kit. You can pick one up for about $200.
They used to call it the mini race bypass. It flows 320 cfm @ 10psi. I ran one with my t trim setup. What head unit are you using? This bypass comes standard equipment on the mustang fox body t trim high output kit.
If you're using anything bigger than a t trim or even spinning the t trim hard, you may want to even get a mondo or the b57. There really aren't any bad effects to having too much bypass. Just impeller bearing damage from having too little. FWIW, I run a procharger red race bypass on my ysi setup and it's good to about 2000 hp.

I'm running a V-1 setup. 8 rib conversion with the modified brackets for better belt grip, with a custom inlarged crank pulley. I was just wondering if the stock unit would let out or leak some of the boost under the higher 12-15lbs pressure.
