correct installed height of the spring is CRITICAL...use mfr's suggested height or better=check each spring on a tester to determine height/pressure....can be checked after installation with just a ''machinist's scale'' (small ruler) but ''dial verniers'' (abt $20 at harbo fright) are easier and more accurate...there is a tool available to check spring pressure on installed heads...steel shims under the springs also prevent the springs from eating into the alum head.
