My car made the same noise when hot, drove me crazy. You got away alot cheaper then me.
I have not the time nor the tools to do the repair myself. I called a Corvette specialist and he told me his hourly rate, but had no clue as to what the problem could be. Instead I took the car to my local garage up the block, where the guy works mostly on old Mopars. I brought him a printout of some of the replies I got to my problem, and I told him to check the fuel injectors. He disagreed with the diagnosis and happened to be pretty stubborn about it. I gave him the latitude and he went ahead and "checked" (also known as tried new parts) the TPS, ECM, and several other electronic items. After some amount of time he reluctantly measured the injectors and found four bad. Being as the guy is my local guy up the street, he did not charge me for the 11 hours invested not looking at the injectors. He did find the EGR valve was stuck open though, and he did change that.
Bottom line: ATTABOY to the Corvette Forum and it pays to deal with someone you know and trust.
get a stethoscope or a screwdriver or a wooden dowel and put it on each injector body with the car running. You will hear them ticking as they fire and they should all sound the same.If you have a bad one it will sound different to the others.
Just saw you fixed it-great.I'll leave this post anyway for others.
