My coolant light has been coming on alot...and I know that it isnt low coolant because I just filled it up and keep checking it. It Doesnt come on when im on the freeway cruiseing at a good speed but when im in stop and go traffif it tends to come on alot and then turn off. It also comes on when i start the car. Im thinkin that its just a bad sensor. If so where is it located?
What do you guys think

Re: Coolant light??? (RadPolo96)
Look under the refill tank by the windshield.
To get to it, you have to disconnect the top two smaller hoses, unbolt the one side, and you can pull it out. The bottom hoses to the heater core may need to be removed but you can get to the sensor at this point.
I had the same problem. I couldn't figure out what it was. The water was full. But for some reason the radiator wasn't pulling the coolant from the reservoir. Must've been a tiny, tiny air leak. I couldn't find any coolant leaks. So what I did was put a bottle of the radiator stop-leak powder in the radiator and ran it for a while. The low-coolant light never came back on after that. And the radiator pulls water from the reservoir. A $3 fix, if it works.
I doubt the sensor is bad.. It's just a piece of metal stuck into the radiator.
It usually works or don't.
Found the problem...bad water pump...have to get it fixed soon before it leaks onto opti spark. Just hope i can make it there before i overheat. :nonod:
