Looks like a good idea to me. Maybe a bigger diameter housing; if possible, would be even better. It's probably a 4-BBL Throttle Body, for those who don't know. As with a Carb, heigth under the hood is limited for Air Filters.

Makes sense to me.
Looks to me that the air cleaner is up front in the stock location.

What looks like an air cleaner on top of the manifold, is just one that's been modified to act like a giant banjo fitting. Like this one.

can't tell how good it looks till we see a 1/4 mi slip...right now just looks like a late 80's pik-up tbi with 6 more injectors.

Default nope not kidding

the engine is a 383 with trick flow 23 degree heads. to me it made no sense to use a tpi OR ANY KIND OF RAM intake knowing their limitations and low end torque capabilities (which I'm sure are high on the low end )since i have plenty of torque already on the low end . its a Weiand single plane intake with injector/nitrous bungs drilled out for injectors good for 6500rpm with a 1000 CFM 4 BARREL THROTTLE BODY . it is totaly tuneable with a lap top useing accel dfi

I like it.
The cost for the 4bbl throttle body is the only downside.

since i put this together 3 years the price of a 4 barrel throttle body with iac has come down ,I am pretty sure you can get a holly for around $500 the intake is $125 @ summit I dont think you could get the preformance form other corvette setups at any way near that price

thanks! your right it is a 1000 cfm 4 barrel throddle body "bigger diameter housing"? if you mean the the thing that looks like an air cleaner its just a houseing the pipe in front of it attaches to a c5 inlet hose and to get more cold air in note the fabricated piece to get more air from the modified c4 filter housing

well for the money spent under it i wouldn't top it off with that. i would have done an elbow into a stock style throttle body or a drop base filter.

How about something like this...

made no sense to use a tpi OR ANY KIND OF RAM intake knowing their limitations and low end torque capabilities
Check out the flat torque curve on this tunnel ram..

But something very similar does.

It all fits under the stock hood in an '87.
