Last year at this time went to the track and ran
1.807 - 60
12.276
115.05 mph
This year yesterday 3200stall and 3.73's
1.72 - 60
12.750
105.5 mph
Anyone have any ideas, car is running and starting great. There is a gas smell in the garage after starting so it is running rich but could this cost me 10 mph and I figure I should be running high 11's now.
Fred. Comparing the trap speeds. It appears that you are down around 100 horsepower. How are those slicks fitting in the rear? Is there any rubbing? I probably would of changed the tires, and put your Nitto's back on to rule out that problem.
How is the car running? Does it have the same pull as it used too?
Hmm.....105.5 mph is very close to what the stock ZF6 LT1's trap. I hope with the help of the forum members. You can get that fixed. Maybe the gas smell has something to do with you losing fuel pressure?

The day we went last year was a hero day Fred.
I haven't changed anything with my car and I lost 2 mph and .3 seconds as well.
With your changes and the track being a little slower i would have expected you to hit about the same as last year.
No idea how you got slower. Did someone put your motor back to stock when you were at work?
Hey Rick, afte the carnage with the wheelhop on the Nitto's I wasn't going to try them again. Hey Jeff where is the video and did you get home alright.

Gotcha. Still dont get the wheelhop incident. I never had that with my car, weird! I talked to Jeff this morning, He got home allright.
Fred, Is that it for 1/4 mile racing, or are you going again? Jeff, Maybe his motor is in his son's Mazda now.

The video is still in the camera. I will try to get it downloaded onto the computer when I get home tonight.
No problems getting home but I didn't press my luck and drive her to work today.
Hey Rick if you ever get any horsepower under that hood and launch it hard you might just get wheelhop.
Fred
Fred. I am not trying to be sarcastic. When you had that problem last year with wheelhop, I asked my bud's that have anywhere from 400rwhp-600rwhp in there C4's if they have ever experience wheelhop, and they replyed not really. This has nothing to do in regards to whether or not I have "any horsepower" under my hood or not. This thread is about you losing 10 mph off your trap speeds. Do you think you lost fuel pressure? If the tires arent rubbing. That's where I would look!! Fuel is Horsepower. I know you are disappointed with the car, but you will get it ironed out.

I lost serious power when my throttle cable was out of adjustment. It kept unadjusting every couple of months. I'm starting to wonder if the cable is worn. Lately it's been ok. I discovered it when data logging with the laptop. If you have the equipment record a few runs and see if anything is off.
