Default Block Learn cell question

I'm using TurnerPro to monitor my ECM to make adjustments to my VE tables. I noticed the block learn cell rarely changes from 4. Occasionally it will change to 7, 10, and 11, but it mostly stays on 4. Is ,this a problem?

I'm new to this tuning stuff so I don't know what everything means, or what "normal" readings are. Any tips and advise are welcome.

Thanks.

what ecm ? if it is a 727/730 and it is running rich (low blm)it will try to stay in 4, (also used for stay alive limp home).

it's a '91 system for a Vette. I think it is a 730. It is running rich and I am in the process of altering the lower VE table to lean it out. I'm pretty sure it didn't go into limp home mode because the flags showed that it was in closed loop and learn was enabled.

Will it start using different cells as I get the mixture closer? Also have another observation. I have my max spark advance to 32 degrees, however, during the drive it hit 37 degrees. Should that happen?

Thanks in advance for your help. It is appreciated.

yes, it will start using the other trim cells once you get the BLM's more in line. Depending on the rest of the tune it may also attempt to keep going back to 4 or 10 if that map vs rpm range is to lean or rich.
Aside from add ons (cold start, hi-way etc.) whatever you have in the main spark advance table will show up in scans even though you may have the spark advance max.table set lower. I am not sure why it will do this, as all the reading I've done states it should be capped by the max. table regardless of what is in the main table.
