Default Digital Cluster...No Light

Just bought a used cluster and every thing works but the tach which the person informed me that it didn't. The problem is everything is very very dim and can barley read it. The 3 directional bulbs do not come on, could this be my problem?
Or am I far off base or could it be other bulbs? Any input would help.
Thanks,
Mitch

I replaced all of the bulbs in my 86 vette cluster several years ago and this improved the clarity of my display. Cheap solution. I think I bought a light bulb kit from Eklers. I have read in the forum that you can also replade the standard bulbs now with halogen which run cooler to prolong the life of the display. Good luck.
