tach stops at 3000rpm

tach stops at 3000rpm
i installed a 6al plus box and now my tach drops to zero when i go over 3000 rpms. someone told me about the tach sensor on the front of the passenger side head, but thats all i know. is there anything i can do to make it work right?

Might be the tach sensor, but check MSD's site / help line first. Lot's of GM products require MSD's Tach Filter for the Tach to work properly. If it worked fine before the 6al install, I'd look there first.
