ok im going crazy here, i was told the tach filter on a 1993 is on the front of the passenger side head, but it doesnt look like one. where is the tach filter on a 1993?
If it is like the 94, ( Lt1), the tach filter is just above of the ignition coil, also called spark coil.
It is a little black resin part, about 1 inch long with 2 wires.
This would be behind the steering fluid reservoir, just to the side of the water pump. Passenger side. In the front of the engine.
The tach filter on my 93 is a little black cube taped to the part of the harness that goes over to the water pump for the ECT sensor. Its very near the hose leaving the thermostat gooseneck.
Here's a pic. of the tach. filter location.
Passenger side / front of the engine taped to the harness.
Here's the schematic showing the tach. filter.
At the ignition coil gray connector Pin A is a white wire. If you follow the wire it goes to the tach. filter. As you can see in the schematic, the tach. filter has 3 wires. Two are white and one is black. You cut the two white wires and splice them together. This bypasses the factory tach. filter.
