Your antenna is raised and lowered by a small motor located above your left rear tire. The inside of the antenna has a plastic ribbon which has gear teeth on it. Your ribbon is broken and you are going to need a new mast assembly. Get this from a GM dealer or MAD. This is the easy part! Now, you should remove the motor assembly and retrieve the broken ribbon. You reinstall the motor and feed the ribbon into the motor and you are set. Do a search on the forum as there have been many posts on removing the motor assembly. I have a FSM for my 89 model and can fax the procedure to you if you cannot find it in a forum search. BTW, the first time you do this procedure, it will take you 4-5 hours, a lot of four letter words and at least three Bud Lites.
