i wanted to post pics of my new hood that i ordered but never had the time. The hood is only 22 LBS and has a plenty or room to fit a huge turbo or an intake. The cowl runs all the way to the windshield which i think looks sick . i also made them patch up the spot where the headlights use to go, i no longer run the pop ups. ill post pics of the hood on the car when i go back home this week for thanksgiving, but for now this is all i have ... thanks
You should have turned that cowl around and put a scoop on it! I have seen a few like that and they look pretty tough.
Like the look and 22lbs! Christ I am thinking about putting a cement block up there under mine! You will be having the same problem
lol ... im working on a way to force air in the motor just the way a scoop would. a friend of mine made one for his all motor SBC that runs 8.5s . its a an alum pan thats starts around the carb and runs down all the way under the bumper or the front licence plate , its a much cleaner look and only getting cold air from out side.
Looks way cool Do they make em smaller and not so high? Can't wait to see it on your ride. Pipe
yeah , they can add any kind of scoop or cowl. i picked that one becuase it has lots of room. this cowl has more room than the normal 5 inch tall cowl, but becuase of it shape it looks no taller than a 3 inch cowl. its a"Sunoco Style" Extended to windshield 28" wide x 4-1/2" tall. This Scoop is designed to give you plenty of clearance and visibility, from the inside of the car this appears no taller than a 2-3 inch cowl.
this is a pic of the same cowl on a camaro, you can get some what of an idea of how it looks like, you can see how it runs all the way to back to windshield. it looks like a low cowl
Do you know what the weight savings is compared to a stock hood? Also, is it suitable for a street car? It does look cool, but heck I like the hood you have now as well.

WOW..that's nice....
Could you install the headlights on it...if you didn't had it patched. And are you going to install it on the hinges or will it be a clip-on.

i was told stock hood is little bit over 100LBS, you could use it on a street car id you order the bolt in hood. mine is a pin on with Dzus all around.
