As late as your C4 is I don't know that it even has a tach filter. The tach signal comes from the Opti low and high resolution sensors, not related to the high-voltage section. Failure of these will make the tach needle oscillate wildly around the correct value, and if it's like mine will eventually lead to bucking, shutting off, and not starting. Did your opti get wet?
Opti is a brand new MSD pro billet unit, and did not get wet
Also the computer was swapped out for a custom tuned unit from PCMforless. Not sure if the computer has anything to do with it, but i figured i'd throw that out there.
all help is appreciated !
