Ok guys, here's a fun one. I noticed while rebuilding my engine that the pan gasket for the tranny has a slight leak in it. No brainer thing to do is crack the pan, drain some fluid, change the filter and gasket and move on. Right?
The tranny hasn't been serviced since 96 at the latest -- my best guess. It really hasn't been on the road much since then until now.
Seems kind of risky, but I'm thinking I should go ahead and do the work and move on. Any experienced tranny guys want to jump in on this one? Does it seem that if I service it now that I may create new problems?

If it were mine, I would drop the pan, change the fluid and filter, and not worry.
