Default C4 head and cam

Does anyone know what the port and chamber size is on my stock heads ? What would be a good cam and head set-up for this 350 with automatic. I would like a little better performance .

What year is your car. I think most L98's have a 58cc chamber....hopefully someone will chime in and set me straight. While mine is apart I'll have to remember to measure how far down the piston sits from the block at TDC.

The trick flows work great and the price is right. I used a flat tappet cam-hindsight I should have gone the xtra $$ for a retrofit roller-and I am planning on doing just that after catching up on a few more bills! Currently my cam is 222 and 228deg duration at .50 on a lsa of 114deg. with lift of .494 with 1.6 roller rockers- and it runs out of steam too soon for me. But I do have the cube inches; remember that the more cubes then the more duration it can take and still idle decent and pass smog. (As I see you're also in the not so great smog state!) "john25" just had his heads ported and did the hot cam with good results; it boogies now! BTW-where the heck is Kelseyville???

So can you set up the top end of a 86 vette with 87and later parts. If so do I need to change pushrod length if I go with roller cam and roller rocker? Does anyone know what port and chamber size I should go with on a stock 350. Also what about valve spring size? Oh yeah Kelseyville is about 100 miles north of S.F. way up in the sticks.

Early L98 iron heads were 76cc. 1986 aluminum heads were a bit smaller. Not sure on the size. In 1987, even smaller, again I'm not sure on the size, (I wanna say 68cc). :smash:

Yes you'll need shorter pushrods; The valve springs should match the cam-seat and open press. and amt of lift without coil bind is what you need to check on. GRX-didn't the chamber size drop to 58cc??? Hey, Kelseyville is a lot closer to Summit racing than I am! (I could go broke if I lived next to Summit.)
