i rewired my whole car from headlights to taillights, and the one thing that i cat get to work right are the power windows. the motor has two wires coming from it a UP and Down wire. the switch has 5 Pins on it, thats what im going crazy trying to figure out. from what i got so far is one pin is ground, 2 pins are power, 2 pins as UP and Down from the motor. can someone help me figure out how to hook the switch up to a relay, i plan on running a realy on each side the driver and pass.. the pic i added is the window switch pins
ALWAYS post the year car you are asking help for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The window motor has two wires going only to the motor (no ground) because the motor runs in one direction with one polarity and another direction with the opposite polarity. Each window switch is a double pole double throw switch which changes the polarity across the motor wires depending on which direction the switch is depressed. You don't need a relay, all you need is the proper connections to the switch and if you have the electrical diagnosis service manual, it shows how the switch is wired. On the switch plug in connector, the black wires go to ground. The brn (LH) and tan (RH) wires go to the motor (B terminal). The dark blue (LH) and light blue (RH) wire goes to the other motor wire (A terminal). The pink wire goes to the window circuit breaker. If you have discarded the original wiring harness connected to the switches and motors, let me know and I will describe how to identify with an ohmeter the switch contacts.

yeah thats part of the problem, i no longer have the window circuit breaker or the original wiring harness, my car is an 1986
Looking into the pins on the switch, the two center pins each go to a motor wire. With the top right no pin, the left bottom pin goes to the window circuit breaker and the two remaining pins go to ground. You may have to reverse the motor wires to get the window to go up with a forward switch position.
Wire it like I posted and supply 12v from a fused source large enough to run both motors at the same time.
ok i run 12 volt from battary to circuit breaker and from the breaker to the top left that has no right pin, the center pins one to each motor wire and the bottom to a ground. what its doing, without pushing the switch the window goes up or down. ... im going crazy lol
NO, +12v goes to the pin that is on the opposite corner of the switch from the corner with NO pin. You cannot read and comprehend correctly. The two pins that are across each other on the other corners go to ground and the two pins in the center each go to a motor wire.

Looking into the bottom of the switch.
lol ... sorry ill try it out and let you guys know how it goes .. thanks
im not sure what the problem is or what it is that im doing wrong . i wired it the same way you told me to and as soon as i hook up the the 2nd motor wire the window goes up or down without pressing on the switch
Do both windows do this? You may have a defective window switch. If only one window does this, try swapping switches and see if the problem follows the switch proving its the switch. Your windows will work properly if 12v is supplied from either 12v continuosly or from the ignition switch! Check to be sure that you have wired up the switch socket properly, my money is on miswiring the socket. With the window switch not activated, the motor wires aren't connected to anything and the motor should not run!
