LOOKS like the air pipe that goes from the air control box to the main catalytic convertor. But mine certainly isn't routed in front of the engine like that!! :nonod:
Thats a coolant tube that runs from the heater hose (down near fuel lines) around the oil pan to the oil cooler on the oil filter.
Looks like it needs a new one too! Check for cracks and worn near 90's.

Agreed. In my case(89), it lies between the crossmember and oilpan. Runs to the oil cooler. Starts from a coolant hose(tee'd) at the small outlet on the water pump going to the upper heater core inlet. Does that help anything? I forgot to install that pipe before I put my rebuilt motor back in but was able to wiggle it back in.
thanks for all your help guys-- with it we got all the parts back in the car tonight, just have to finish preoiling the motor and getting all the hoses and wires hooked up. Don't have any clue how the vacuum hoses are routed, but I am sure we'll figure it out.
I broke quite a few pulling the motor out, hopefully I'll be able to replace them easily.

There should be a sticker/hose routing diagram on the radiator. I am familiar with the hoses pretty good since I just went thru identifying and re-connecting them recently. Give a holler if ya have a question.
