Default 1985 Chip Tuning

Does anyone have any recommendations on a mail order vendor who can do a tune for the 85 ECM? Unfortunately pcmforless said they no longer do 85s. I guess I could find someone who dyno tunes around here in Dallas, but not sure of a shop that will burn a prom for the 85.

I went with a Hypertech stage 2 from summitracing.com and the car is now making 211 rwhp and 340 ft/lbs at the wheels on a L98

Problem is I have a new cam and will need a custom tune for that. Maybe this is where I start planning my Winter 08 project of changing the ECM to the 165.

Bet there is someone in or around Dallas who can put it on their dyno and use a wideband O2 sensor to do you the biggest part of your needed tuning. In many ways that may be quicker, easier, more expensive, but more direct than working emails with Alvin.

Yeah, I've been talking to Ed Wright out of Tulsa with FastChip about doing a Dyno tune with him. Sounds like that's going to send me down the right path now.

Surprised there is not someone in Dallas - if New Braunfels is about as close as Tulsa try Corey Henderson - he did my tune.

I've honestly done a lot of searching on here and just calling around and haven't come across someone that could do it for my 85. I forgot about the guys down that way. It sure would be a nicer drive through the hill country rather than the flat lands of Oklahoma.

You might want to consider re-pinning harness plugs and use 86-89 ECM.
The thread is on www.thirdgen.org.
It seems like a lot of guys have done it.

If you aren't repinning and sticking with the '85 ECM you might try Jim at SWTuning. He's in Oklahoma City and might be able to help you out.

Yep, that's correct, as well as converting it over and the recommendations for properly building or modifying your motor. Not a problem either way.
