Opening rear hatch "manually"

I'm currently building a race car and with all the wiring pulled-out can someone explain to me what tool/lever needs to be pulled in order to open the rear hatch glass?

if im not wrong, there should be a metal wire that you can pull on, its in the middle right where the hatch clips ... not sure but i did the same to my car , took all the stock wiring out.

hi guys,
yep there is small wire in middle near sun shade pull out curtain that you pull to release the hatch up well that is in my 1991 vette, but they are proberely all the same though

Yup they are, I had one that was hard to find one time. Someone had tucked it up under the latch, drove me more crazy then I normaly am.

The cable should be 2'' from center, towards passenger side.

I lengthened the that wire and ran it into the gas filler door area, works great.

Someone had already done it when I bought my car, but on mine they connected to the release and ran a wire around the rear of the car and down the passenger side where you could grab the wire from behind passenger seat.

I like your idea better though, think i'm gonna move it.
