Default Front hub needed

One of my front hubs is growling.

I've looked at half a dozen or more sources. RockAuto seems to be the most reasonable ($280/ea), with the dealer...of course...being somewhat higher at $839/ea.

Only problem is; RockAuto only has one in stock and is backordered.
Anyone have a source for hub assemblies(I always replace parts in pairs) for about $300/ea??

thanks

Larry

you can try gmpartsdirect.com

HOWEVER, I'd try your local autoparts store first. If the brand is Timken I believe that's what GM uses as OE.

If you want to avoid the "Corvette tax" you can use the front hub assembly from IIRC a 94 Firebird and just drill out the threaded holes for bolt clearance. That should only run you $100-$150. Do a search to make sure I've made the right reference, it's been discussed multiple times.

Tried GMPD, GMPH, ZIP, Bean, and several others.

Did a search and one guy said try AutoZone. So i did....the local AZ will have a unit here in 24 hours and the price is $100 cheaper than the next cheapest place(RockAuto)...same Timken brand, too.
I'm not usually one who goes for the cheapest part, but if it is for the same part, I'll take the least expensive one!
Thanks for the tip, astock, I should have tried them first.

Not sure on the year of your car but i believe the mid 90s firebird front hubs are an alternative, only differance is the firebird hubs use threaded mounting holes and the corvettes is bolt through, since the hub is located via the center hub ring, you can seasily drill out the mounting holes ( removeing the threads ) and save about 100.00 per unit

Avail at most any AZ for around 150.00 ea They are timkins as i recall

All 4th gen f-body hubs are the same. A hub for a 93-02 Camaro or Firebird will work. You can either drill out the holes, or put the bolts in from the other direction.

If your tracking your car, forget the autozone timken hubs. they are junk. do a search, this has been discussed too many times.
