Default 1885 corvettte digital dash

I had my dash rebuilt $500 later everything works, but tem guage is wacky. i accelerate and the cars says it is overheating, but i put a mechanical guage(new)( between cyl 1 & 3), and it reads 190. the other thing i can not figure out is that it only reads wacky when i accelerate, or driving. i have disconnected all the sensor tha i think were the temp sensors, but can not get the sensor to display low.
I disconnected the one in front of the manifold, and the one by cyl 1 & 3. am i missing something. the guages before repair i have no idea if they read right. could it be faulty wiring? bad ecm? bad guage cluster?

I'm just taking a stab, but maybe you have an open circuit or your dash connector isn't fit snug. Again, just throwing an idea out there.

Sounds like to me, that you have a short in the circuit going to the temp sender. The sender is on the driver's side cyl. head. Inspect for worn insulation, etc. Just a good way to start troubleshooting. I think the wire is dark blue...

It is... well, unless you look at mine after years and years and years of sitting next to the head in high heat, mine has turned a whitish color with some blue pigment attempting to show. :-)

Does the blue wire go directly to ecm? Any one have a schmatic. My Haynes Manual is horrible.

And No it is not an 1885. LOL It is a 1985

Hey,
I did the same thing! I added a mechanical gauge to the head. IT READS HIGH, Dosen't it! On regular cruising it read ok (a little high prior to thermostat opening). In general, ALL was ok with my motor. When I accellerated hard the aftermarket gauge read a little high for a bit (slow to cool down).
I removed the same gauge because I found it to be use-less and 'Non-stock'.
