Neat (Josh) and I went to the track today, but got rained out immediately after getting the car off the trailer and putting his Mickey Thompsons on. Bummer. The bogie was 11.79 with the Mickeys, skinnies, and 58 degrees...maybe next time.
Bummed out we decided to pull in at a truck stop and weigh it on the way home....it weighed in at 3,220 pounds. This was with the fuel between 1/2 and 3/4 tank, stock front wheels, and Josh's f-body rims and Mickey Thompsons on the back. Josh's rims/tires are 9 pounds lighter than my stock rims and Nittos. That means that up until now my race weight has been around 3,400 pounds. I weigh 165.
With the skinnies on the car, it would have weighed in at 3,170 since they are 25 pounds each wheel lighter than my stock rims.
How does this compare to other C4's that have been on the scales??
Mine weighs 2820 with about 1/5 tank of gas, and 2920 with a completely full tank, without driver. Installing a lightweight flywheel this week, so it will drop ~25 more pounds.
I dropped quite a bit of weight on mine by switching to aluminum heads, removing the stereo system, removing a lot of junk from the engine compartment, and removing the spare. Next weight saving mod will be lighter wheels. I have no idea how much it weighs though.

I read once that rotational weight loss, especially within the driveline, is very helpful. I read that for every 1 pound of rotational weight loss it is like losing 5 pounds of weight from the car. Not sure if this applies to wheels, or just to flywheels, cranks, torque converters, driveshafts, etc. Anyone know???

Not sure about the 1-to-5 number, but rotating mass is DEFINITELY important to minimize. All the engine internals, flywheel, clutch, driveshaft, wheels, brake rotors....it all rotates.

I've shaved mine down to 2835 with with a full cage, a driver and 5 gals fuel... but there's not alot else left of the car.
Some of the biggest weight savings came from: (in order of weight savings) 1) Gutting everything. 2) Replacing the rear glass with lexan. 3) Replacing the heavy Z-f 6-speed with a lightweight transmission. 4) Replacing the dual mass flywheel with a button clutch. 5) Lightweight racing wheels. 6) Gutting wiring harness using only a few needed circuits, rerouting a smaller battery to rear and using AL batt cables.
Smaller gains like: 7) Replacing OEM starter with a lightweight starter. 8) Plasma cut off all tabs/ narrow door hinges, etc. were more difficult and costly in the Lbs saved for the hassel.

My car consistanly weighed 3522lbs on the scale at e-town with me in it, and a 1/2 tank of gas, I weigh 190. A stock c4 with a 6spd is suppose to weigh right at 3300lbs, give or take depending on the options.
You could've drove that thing to Jersey by now and had your 11.79 slip.

I just went 12.62@109.84 at atco last saturday.
I think you're right. You guys in New Jersey have got it made. Either you guys have killer air up there or your tracks are less than 1,320 One of these days I'm going to go to E-town or Atco and check it out.
