I searched and read but didn't see a comprehensive thread that covered the switch to a carb engine. This question is for information only so please don't ask why I want to do it or tell me what a bad idea it is. I have read all of that during my search. I just want to tap the experience of those who have done this conversion.
With that said.....
Lets say that I picked up 383 crate motor with an Edlebrock performer manifold on it for my 1991 weekend stoplight racer. What do i need to do to make it run with the existing fuel pump and lock-up converter? Lets also assume that I am not worried about computer funtions on the dash or the likes.

A good aftermarket EFI set up like Edelbrock, Holley, and others sell.
For fuel, you need a different fuel pressure regulator. The bypass type is best. You can buy a TCC "kit", which I know nothing about, or you can install a manual toggle switch. For race only you may need nothing. There is no need to give up any dash/gauge functions other than the gas mileage indicator.
You can find everything you need at Jegs. They even sell the lockup kit for the 700R4, its like $60. I seriously considered doing the conversion too, but gas is far too expensive.
