I am a new owner of a stock '94 Coupe w/42,000 and auto trans.
What is the general opinion of replacing the MAF Sensor w/ a new "HI-Flow" performance one. Is the $300 worth it? Does the computer need reprogramming? Do they really help or hurt things.
Thanks,
Tim
And yes you would need reprogramming. There are 4 separate MAF calibration tables in the computer on your car (and mine) and it would take a fair amount of testing to get those absolutely right.
For $300 you could so some roller rockers or a few other things.
I m new to the forum and also the V8 cars. I was a former Rotary man, which nobody cares about. I have 96 lt4, and put in one of those MAF's for Granetelli or whatever it is and spent 400 dollars on it. Didnt feel a thing. If you didnt upgrade exhaust. I know thats where to start. I put muffler eliminators and an x pipe at a local exhaust shop for 500 and i felt a differece.
I might be alone in saying this, but... Before you start modding, make sure you check things such as the Opti and water pump, especially on a car that will soon be 14 years old.
