Default Experience with CompCams XFI cams

I am considering an upgraded cam/springs/push rods for my 95 LT1. Car has EM LTs, 6 speed, standard gears (3.45), Corsa Exhaust, and tune by PCMForLess. I'm interested in max average power, not peak dyno numbers.

Does anybody have any experience with CompCams new XFI cams? With the stock unported heads, I'm thinking that the 466 cam (218/224 @050 .570/.565 LSA 113) will provide the best average power number between 2000 and 5800 rpm. The 467 cam is very tempting (230/236 .576/.570 LSA 113), however, I think this cam will not provide any additional average power with the stock unported heads in the 2000-5800 rpm range and may actually make less average power in this range. Although the average power may be greater with the stock heads if the engine is wound to 6500, I dont trust the stock bottom end of this motor above 6000-6200 on any regular basis. I'm also thinking that the 466 cam will be considerably more civilized (closer to OEM) than the 467 cam given equal tuning on a 350 ci motor. Any thoughts or advice?

The 466 looks like a great cam for your rpm range and mods.

The 466 is a good choice...

On a client's engine with mildly ported heads, the 466 made 369rwhp (I forget the torque), and it pulled strong to 6000 RPM.

the 224/230 is good with stock heads, I have run the in several Lt1's and I think there the best cam for a LT1, Mt 355 in my 94 Z has a custom ground comp cam in it.

Isn't the 224/230 the old CC 503 xtreme energy cam?

The CC 503 is a 224/230 with 112 LSA. I have one and consider it quite mild.

It is but for a stock head motor it will take advantage of the stock heads, the 230/236 is to aggressive for stock heads your leaving alot of cam in the motor so to speak

I'd go for a 305 or 503 for a mostly stock engine!

I had the CC XFI 466 cam, CC roller lifters, CC 1.6 RRs, PAC 1218 beehives, installed and my computer retuned by PCMFORLESS. Engine runs great, just enough lope, good throttle response. The power feels slightly greater up to about 4500 and then comes alive between 4500-6000 rpm. Prior to cam, car made 290 rwhp and 335 rwtq and ran a best of 12.6x at 109+ with DRs at Atco (45 degree weather). I'm predicting about 330 rwhp and about 340 rwtq with the cam and 12.4x-12.5x at 111-112 under similar conditions at Atco.
