Default LT1 code 43 Knock sensor question?

can any one tell me how to check code 43? what to look for how many sensors does the a 92 Lt1 have how much does it cost and do Autozone or
discount auto parts or Pep boys have then any tricks to changing? any help
will be deeeeeeply appriciated :conehead :blueangel:

I'm not sure how many the '92's have, but my '95 has (2) knock sensors - one on each side of the block.

They run about $40 each.

They are very easy to reach and remove if you can get under the car. The passenger side KS is just in front of the starter, the driver side one is in front of the oil filter, directly mounted to the engine block. You will have to drain the coolant from the block otherwise you'll be wearing antifreeze when you pull the ks.

The KS's are behind a little metal plate which is secured to the oil pan with two bolts.....unscrew those two bolts, lower/remove the metal cover and you'll have access to the sensors.

In addition to what callaway had to say, there are 2 of those buggers on a 92 also.
