I am intrested in buying and installing a set of headers on my 1985 corvette. I have installed a Borla cat-back exhaust and I plan on installing a Magnaflow Free Flow Direct Fit Catalytic Converter. Is their a set of headers I can buy that will bolt up to the existing front Y-pipe. I do not need to retain the air injection system but would if the headers came ready for that type installation. I assume I am looking for short headers. I this a smart move (will I get a HP increase)?
No short headers, you already have them on the stock setup... LT headers and have your current y pipe cut to fit, clamp and go...
oh yea, and learn to use the search function and you'll find all kinds of info

Do you have any idea on how expensive a cheap, but quality pair of long tube headers are?
Thanks for the information. If there are no short headers I will probably pass on the headers as I understand long headers can cause interferance problems, e.g. starter. Hard to believe there are no short headers as many L98 Corvettes there are. I did search under headers and did not find any thing.

There aren't many shorties available because nobody buys them, because they are useless and give no HP gain, because the factory already put tube headers on to begin with.
There are plenty of long tubes out there with proper clearance from everything. Research Hedman Elite, Hooker, Exotic Muscle, LPE, TPIs, etc.
I use search this forum at the top of the page. Is their another search?
WHen you click the search drop down, click the link that say "Click for Advanced Search". From there you can tell it to search the archives and you can select the C4 message board to hit all of the different sections with a search.
