I just looked at that thread and I would say you have had some very good suggestions to check out. Check the fuel pressure, especially under load. Reduce your plug gap to something close to normal. You might try .035" to .040". You could install an oscilloscope to check the secondary ignition, but to be meaningful you would have to have a way to load the engine; either a dyno or a test drive. A broken valve spring isn't always that easy to spot. It doesn't have to fly apart and scatter all through the engine to be a problem. There are, on the car, valve spring testers. Follow through on all the good advice you have already received. Unfortunately, I have no "silver bullet" to offer.

Yeah, I hear ya. Someone is needing brains and paging you. I guess scraping the bottom of the barrel is an understatement!! Had to get that one in CFI, gotta use every opportunity that blows my way.
