What's an open lid
Last week I asked about gears for my '90. Many said that engine and tranny mods were better if I still wanted to cruise the highway. I keep reading about some of the basic mods i.e. K&N, open lid, gutted MAF etc.. What is an open lid and how do I gut the MAF? I've had several other Vettes but did not modify any. I'm interested in whatever I can perform to give my '90 more power and hopefully learn something in the process. Thanks in advance for your help. :chevy

Remove your air filter lid and cut out the top leaving just a slight lip to hold the air filter in place.
Forget about the MAF, your TPI setup is Speed Density so has no MAF.
Remove that "frisbee" bolted to the front of your water pump pulley. Check out my C4 Tech Tip on this mod.
