My check engine light was on so I tested it and I replaced the TPS sensor. The light went out, and runs great now. Why do some people adjust it? Isn't it set from the factory? Or do you have to adjust them all? And how do you adjust it?
If so - Yes, it must be adjusted, when you bolt it on there, to show a particular voltage (What exact voltage depends on what you are trying to do, the Factory setting would be .54) on a scan tool (or however else you choose to measure it) at idle. If you just slap it on there you have no idea what the voltage actually will be, and it's a relatively important input for the ECM.
Newer years (I'm not sure when it started - LT4 motors, maybe) do NOT have any provision for TPS adjustment, not mechanically anyhow.
