All you need to have the lockup work in a 700R4 is a way to power the TCC solenoid. I used to have a Vega (now Those were the days...) that I swapped a mild 350 into, along with a 700R4 - I just ran a power wire to a toggle switch on the shift console and from there to the TCC connector on the transmission.

All you had to do was remember to turn Off the TCC when you came to a stop or you would stall the motor - same as if you had forgotten to push in a clutch...

BTW - that car is how I learned that (at least that vintage 700R4) only circulated fluid through the cooler if the TCC was On. No TCC meant no trans cooler, I cooked the First 700R4 I had in that car learning the lesson.

Cooling was an issue in the Vega anyhow - there was no provision, even in one that was Originaly an automatic car, for any transmission cooling. With really limited area in the "A" panel for radiator surface it was almost impossible to keep the Motor cool much less try and also cool the transmission (and I had swapped in the "A" panel from a Monza, which had a taller/deeper radiator). I ended up with an external trans oil cooler mounted up in the passenger side front corner of the engine compartment - which was borderline, but worked. Also had a double flow split radiator in the car - made up for me by a buddy that had a radiator shop. Just barely would keep the motor from overheating if you ran it hard for more than a few minutes. This Was in south Florida...

Go to bowtieoverdrive website. They sell and explain really well what to do. They also sell the throttle linkage bracket for various carbs you need (to get the geometry correct) for the 700R4 TV cable.
