I got everything back together, new screen, dryer and compressor, cools great it it seems I dont have any freon flow till the fan comes on. when I tried to charge it after i evacuated the system high side went out of site till the radiator fan came on then i was able to charge, i have about 40/240. cools great, but when i let it cool down to where there fan isnt running, high side goes crazy, like freon isnt flowing. appreciate any help. dave
While waitinng for someone to help you out here (hopefully SunCr will be along shortly), you might also want to try posting on the AC forum. They helped me out tremendously when I was having issues with my AC:
thanks, i didnt realize i was in the wrong place, thanks again
Oh, you're in the right place, the AC forum is just another resource for you to try. Between there and here, I'm sure you'll get your problem worked out. Good luck...
its going up to 350 plus to where the compressor cuts out, like there one heck of a restiction, when the fan came on pressures went back down to 40/280, I can use the air as long as i wait for the fan to come on. but not when i first start the car up. ( is there any switches or valves that can cut off freon flow in the system maybe the ac coolant fan switch or just maybe a bad compressor??)

ok this is what is happening, I lowered the pressures to 28/210 but what is happening is when the main fan is off the high side is going to 450 and still climbing before i unpluge the compressor, but when the main fan comes on the pressures come right back down to normal. I would appreciate any help on this. thanks
dave,
Check the wiring between the high pressure switch and the fan. You'll need a Helms manual; without mine in front of me I'm not positive, but I believe the ECM controls the fan for the A/C. I would check the wiring between the three; it sounds like the fan is only coming on because of the excessive heat generated by the condenser. Hope this helps a little...
