Default Installing a second o2 for LM-1

I have the TPIS coated LT headers and I need to add a second o2 bung for the wideband o2 sensor that goes to the LM1 afr meter. If I grind off the coating at the collector and weld a bung in what problems will it cause with my headers will they start to rust? what if I weld the bung on then put some high temp paint on that area and keep it maintained? does anybody know of anything else I can put on them to keep them from rusting? the collector is the only place I can see to put the second bung the Y pipe is too far back and it would be a tight fit around car floor trans or stick down too far. This is an 87 the headers are installed and the car has not been started yet.

I have TPIS coated long tubes and their poor fitting Y pipe on my '87. I installed the second bung on the inner passenger side of the Y pipe about 5" from the collector. I did not want to break through any of the ceramic coating on the headers.

I use the LM1 meter as well and have no issues at all with readings from that location.

Are you an auto or manual tran ? I am auto trans and I don't see room for it. In your picture I don't see your control cable are they hooked up in your signature pic?

I converted from the 4+3 to a ZF 6 speed, which would explain the difference in the amount of room we have at that location.

Which cable are you referring to?

This isn't the best pic, but the main O2 cable exits the bottom of the LM1 meter, goes under the passenger side dash, and then through the firewall to the passenger side Y pipe. This is an older picture; my power cable is now hard wired (instead of using the cigarette lighter, which was not a good ground).

I was talking about your throttle cable on your intake pic on your sig. You said your a ZF so that explains why I don't see a TV cable at the throttle body. It looks like I can put it in the same place you did just standing straight up which will make it tough to get to if I have to. I leave my wideband o2 installed but I take the LM1 out when I'm done programming. My new software for my SDS ecu has data logging in the handheld programmer so I may not need my Lm1 but I will install the o2 anyway.

You are correct - the throttle cable was not hooked up in that picture .

I think Innovate recommends removing the wideband O2 sensor when not in use for a prolonged period of time.

hey what operating system are you using on the computer you use to download from your LM1? Mine worked great with windows 98 but when I switched to XP I was having trouble does the Inovate website have an updated version of the software and does it work?

I'm using Windows XP and haven't had any issues with their software compatibility. The Innovate website generally has a link to download the latest software updates, so you might want to give that a try. I'm at work now, so I can't check to see which version I am currently running.

Yep. They want it pretty far downstream so it doesn't destory the wb02.
I used to run the LC1 I think it was. I had a patched bin too, so I just had it report in the aldl stream. Was nice until I realized it was kinda useless.
