Seems to be worse when cold, however it is not consistent. It seems to want to idle around 1250 RPM. If I blip the throttle it drops down, sometimes to 1000 RPM, sometimes to normal. It does it when engine is cold or warm, and it does not seem to matter what the weather is like. Any ideas?
Mine used to do that also- I'm not so sure if my problem was common or not- but my butterflies were pretty filthy- next my throttle cable had some cracking and grime around the cable sleeves- I had to replace the T/V cable due to some tranny work- I also cleaned out my intake and throttle- next I changed my throttle cable and lubed what I could- hasn't happened since... like I said tho, in my case I'm not so sure it was a very common prob.
Other causes would be electrical- sensors and such, and vacuum
Is this only on the initial start or at all times? I know you say it does it whether it's warm or cold... but does that mean for the duration of the trip?
Sounds like the throttle body is worn. The constant movement of the throttle shaft wears out the body. Some ebay guys rebuild them with new bushings/bearings. Results seem to be mixed, some good, dome bad.
