You won't find one. And it'll screw up your center console.

You have no idea what you are talking about, yet you decided to add
your two cents. Typical for Corvette forum.

The swap is very straight forward, and there is lots of information on it. It's very similar to the T5 swap:

http://members.cisdi.com/~anesthes/f-car-t5/

Except you don't have to modify the shifter, you just need the offset
stick. Everything else in the swap is the same.

Yea, you're right Joe. I have no idea what I'm talking about. You have no idea who I am or what I have done. Notice he had to cut the shifter hole for the T5, you need to cut more for the T56.

Yes I notice "he" (that would be me btw) had to cut the hole for the shifter. The T56 comes up roughly 2" farther back than the T5 does, which is in a better spot than the T5. I have the part # for a hurst offset stick that puts the shifter in the right spot for a T56. The T5 requires more mods.

I don't care what you have done or who you are. Don't answer people with crap when they ask for things, it's lame.

Well you didn't exactly do much better. He asked for a T56 and you came back with a T5 installation. So take your own advice.

Yes. And I said it's the same thing, except it requires less mods for the shifter. If you read my article you'll find the cbeam adapters are made by the same company, you just need the T56 one. The same driveshaft rules apply with the T56. The only difference with the T56, is that it puts the shifter farther back which may be more desirable as its closer to the C4 location.

You are going to need the following:

1) A 1994-1997 T56 complete with bell housing, flywheel, clutch, and slave cyl out of an fbody
2) A cbeam adapter from pro-street performance
3) If your car is 85+ you'll need to shorten the driveshaft.
4) You'll need a offset shifter stick, such as hurst 538-8571

Follow the steps on the T5 swap. It's all pretty much the same, same rules apply. The shifter base won't need to be modified, just use the offset stick.

Maybe. Contact Central Coaster. He will probably tell you to swap in a ZF6 though, which if you really want a 6 speed is probably the best bet.
The T5 swap is about saving money (most of the 4+3 stuff carries over). The T56 swap can end up costing more than a ZF6 transplant.

Central Coaster and JeffVette has some info on pros/cons both swaps

Both got permabanned. Less info for CF....Do we get in trouble for referring people to other sites to where these guys (among others) can be found to help our members with questions?

Bring em back, all of em.

And the bracket from prostreet is a POS. Looks like the welds were done by a begineer in shop class. No penetration, slag all over the place. And a rattle can paint job to cover up the work.

Think so? You must be our new resident expert? Are you related to CFI?

Default T-56 trans swap

Yes, I was on a tread two weeks ago and a guy posted his T-5 Swap.
There is a place to buy a conversion kit for the T-56 swap.
It's Pro Street Customs. They also have that AFSB Bar. I ordered a bar last week for my 95. Hit their web site.

The swap looks to be pretty easy.

Default t-56 swap

Apparently Ralphie has no idea on what he is talking about.

In the Kit from Pro Street Customs wasn't that good, then they do people keep ordring them?

don't trust everything you read. Call Tom from Pro Street Customs.

Man---ralphie dosent seem to like anybody or anything. I personally made the conversion to a t-56 using ProStreets bracket and couldnt have been happier.I also have a Targa Truss bar from ProStreet and the workmanship is A-1. This guy really tries to make a better product and doesnt leave you hanging if there is ANY kind of a problem. It seems like as soon as someone comes along with a good idea and actually designs and fabricates a product that us early C-4 guys can finally buy somewhere--- along comes ralphie. Enough said....

I was avoiding the T56 swap(which I prefered over the ZF-6 that I am now planning on doing) because I was told that my speedometer won't work on my digital dash with a T56 in my 87. But no one has mentioned that so far? That is correct info right?
