Default Please Help with Codes

I posted z thread under "Tech & Performance" requesting help, with limited results.

My '95, AT, 47K, LT1, coupe started stumbling and sputtering at red lights. I babied it home and noted heavy black soot coming from the exhaust. I pulled codes and got:

Module 1: C-12
Module 4: H-64
Module 9: nothing
Module "A": H-24; H-61; H-64.

Of cource this is the first time I have pulled codes, so some of these may not contribute to the problem at hand.

I can not find (nor can other responders in the other thread) a code "H-61" for a '95.

I checked undr hood for the obvious (loose wire, open vacuum circuit, dripping gas, etc.) and found nothing. After sitting overnight, the car started and drove perfect.

I have not yet cleared codes and run the car, but I wanted to check here first before going further.

Any thoughts?

Thanks from Memphis, Gary

64 is an O sensor issue. 12 is simply the the start of any stored codes.

I had the same issue (soot, stumbling, O-code) and found a leak where the Catalytic meets the manifold on the driver's side. Once fixed all symptoms disappeared including the O-code.

Here are some codes to help out. They are for module 4, the PMC codes.

I basically agree to check the O2 sensor as a starting place. Check first for any broken wires or bad plug connections before you go to the effort of pulling the sensor. Just a slight tip. If you pull the sensor, cleaning it will ruin it, for it will not be able to sense properly anymore. If you go to the effort of pulling it, change it.
