Default valve cover input needed

i've built a 383 for my '84 and have 1.6 full rollers.

Any suggestion on centerbolt valve covers that'll clear the rockers and the wiper motor? Apparently "tall" covers won't clear the wiper motor. Thanks in advance.

Can't you use perimeter bolt valve covers (studs actually aren't they)? The tall Proform polished perimeter with slanted ends has worked for many people, including me. But, mine is an 86. Which intake are you using?

Proform makes a "tall" cover that is 1/4 inch higher than stock. As far as I can tell, these have no fitment problems with the rockers, AC compressor, or wiper.

Here's the ones I got.

Not if they are narrow body rockers.

I have the GMPP short aluminum perimeter bolt covers on my 85 and I had to trim the cover on my wiper motor for clearance which totally bugs me. I'm working on adapting another wiper motor that should work with even really tall covers. Once it's working I'll post some pics.

You can use any old style 4 bolt valve covers that are aftermarket tall.
Mickey Thompson makes the ones most used. I have those and a set of Moroso that are tall tin and the MT are alum. You will have to remove the wiper motor which everway you go .I ground the feet off of my wiper motor reinstalled the rubber feet and plugged it in after I installed the valve cover and that is it.DO NOT INSTALL THE ENGINE WITH THE WIPER MOTOR IN PLACE !!REMOVE IT FIRST AND THEN INSTALL THE ENGINE.
The parts are not only hard to find for these cars but expensive.
I also use the valve cover gaskets from MR gasket, with the steel in the center and a cork materal on the out side ,expensive but they will almost never need to be replaced.I have a solid cam in my 86 and I always have the covers off.Don't cut the black cover, dirt will get into the electrical and screw it up over time.
Have a Happy New Year
