Default Heads and cams Or SuperCharger

I'm thinking of putting New Heads and cams on my 1995 Corvette with a LT-1 who sales good heads and cam. How much horepower and torque do they give you. changing the cam do you have to take out the engine. And What is a safe way to do it with out blowing the engine up

Thanks

Heads: Several options here. AFR (1800) and Canfield (?) make excellent heads. AFR has a 180 cc head that is a good street head for a 350. You can also switch to LT4 heads but you'll need an LT4 intake (total is about 1500). You can also have your LT1 heads ported and completely redone for 2000. The main advantage with keeping the LT1 heads is that the intake ports are not enlarged much and retain good air velocity while increasing total airflow.

Cam: LT4 hot cam is one good choice. Crane makes a milder cam for the LT1 also. Lingenfelter has a couple cams and so does TPIS. You should consider roller rockers too. You'll need to do some reprogramming for any of the cams.

The best way to do it yourself correctly is to get the service manual for your year C4 and take your time to do the job. Cam and heads could easily take a week at 8 exhausting hours per day.

I am sure some other guys will chime in with some good ideas. Speed Demon motorsports is a good source for stuff. They know how to port LT1 heads very well.

Thanks for the praise Aquametalic!!! :)

We definitly know what we are doing with the LT1 heads. I truly believe that our heads are some of the BEST on the market.
The heads and cam package that will fit your car depends on what you are looking for out of your car. Give me a ring tomorrow or an email (although with the latest round of viruses, my mail server is a little backed up).
I would be more than happy to help you out.
Thanks,

Superchargers are NOT a bolt on application like some places will lead you to believe. For any kind of longevity of life after the install, a custom program is a MUST. Bigger injectors is a bonus. There are plenty of other little things that you will need to sort out also. I guess it all depends on how much power you want to make and how much money you have to spend. :)

What are your goals with the car and I can better help you pick what is right for you.

FWIW, I would go to the best LT-1 ported heads you can find. SpeedDemon has a reputation of supplying these. If you ever get to the 396 engine, you'll be happy you got the best heads with the 350 set up. JMHO.
