What is in order to change the fusible link? I was driving and the starter wires were on the header and heated up. The car died on me , once the wires cooled backed down it started back up. The car will always start and run but eventually dies after a few minutes of running. Im trying to sell the car right now and need a little help. thanks
doesnt sound like any issue with a fusable link to me, a fusable link is not much more that a thinner gauge wire placed in line with a larger gauge wire, it is designed to burn away under a heavy load, just like a regular fuse, and like a regular fuse, is a one shot deal, blowen is blowen
...Blow up... blew up... blown....
OK, anyway, Is your check engine light on?
Make sure all your wires are tight- I had a problem similar and I spent a week testing every single one of those fuseable links and it turned out a nut on the power distribution block behind the battery was loose... Do you have to wait at all to start it back up?
I dont have to wait at all unless the car was running and its hot. And no the check engine light isnt on. I would like to fix this quickly as someone is very intereseted in the car.

On the later cars, be sure to check behind the battery.
If they go back there, it could start a big fire!
My battery was slightly melted
Make sure you use the some size & length link for a replacement, and the connection is good.
NAPA has them in stock in all different sizes. If its an inline fusible link you'll have to cut out the old one and solder the new one in. I had one near the starter burn up on mine.
