Default Will L98 Valve Covers Fit LT1??

Has anyone put L98 'Centerbolt' valve covers on LT1?
I see a pair of them for sale but don't know if they will fit my 92.
I have roller rockers so I'd have to grind down the drippers I suppose.
I also see there is an extra hole on the drivers side I'd have to plug.

I don't know if they'll fit (probably), and yes to the extra plug. It is where the L98s PCV valve goes. I just sold a pair of brand new LT1 covers two weeks ago.

Well thanks for letting me know I missed out...
I had remembered you had an extra set and started to ask you
about them, but you hadn't mentioned wanting to sell them in
the post that I had read.
I was just getting lazy. I am in the process of polishing mine now.
I'll just have to go ahead and do the work on mine probably.
I don't seem to be having any luck getting the shine to stay though.
Even after I put clear engine paint over the polish, they still get a
dull look after a few days. I was thinking that it was that the LT1
covers were magnesium instead of aluminum. The natural color
of them is grey and they seem to want to go back to grey very
soon after polishing.

No problem, you didn't know I needed them. And actually I guess I really don't. I was just thinking about a quick fix to get back on the road and procrastinate on polishing mine. :D
Not a big deal, I have a beater to drive. What I really need is a trick to keep the shine on my stock ones after I finish polishing them.

Not sure what the covers on LT1 are made of but I know that the L98 covers are made from magnesium I had mine polished and I had to shine them twice a week got sick of that and bought some high quality aluminum covers they stay looking good for several weeks but still need occasional polishing. :U

Yes, they will fit. I had a '92 with these type valve covers. If you polish them you need to have them powdercoated with clear right after they've been polished. Magnesium dulls very quickly if left unprotected to the environment. I had this experience with a set that I had polished.

John, I think that is the ticket. But I had no idea that powder coating could be done in clear. I'll see if I can find a place that can to that locally. Thanks....
