My throttle peddle is sticky from the immediate point of touch. A friend of mine told me that it is the throttle bushings. I have searched hi and low on the internet for this item and cant find it antwhere...any suggestions?
The bushings are pressed into the Throttle Body for the butterfly to rotate on. They are normally done by a Machine Shop, not really a backyard kind of job?
Check for slop by wiggling the throttle lever or whatever it is called. If there is slop, then the bushings should be replaced. If no slop, make sure that the throttle blades aren't closing too far and binding in the bore. If they are binding, adjust with the screw and reset the tps, iac, and minimum idle using the correct prcedure. If the blades are not binding in the bore, spray some lube into the bushings.
Could also be the cable. I'd assume that your car, like most others, has never had the throttle cable lubed. You can get a tool to do it yourself for like 20 bucks from a motorcycle shop, or you can just disconnect it from the TB and tie it up for a day or two while slowly dribbling a light oil (like 3 in 1) into the sheath and working the pedal up and down a little.
There are no bushings, the shafts bore is part of the casting.
The Bushings are the repair for a worn out throttle body. A machinist will ream the throttle body holes out oversize and then press in Bushings for the shaft to rotate on.

Any idea where to get the bushings? My truck (TBI) needs to be reamed and bushed.

I realize that, I was just pointing out to the OP that there are no bushings from factory, so you won't find a part on the Internet.
If you are having a machine shop do the work they will press in whatever they use. I know they make DRILL bushings, press them into a fixture and drill the hole through the bushing. Drill bushings are hardened to resist the drill bit oversizing it. I think you could use bronze stock and custom drill and ream inside and outside diameters?
I know i'm digging up an old thread here, but the tb on my '88 is worn, and i would like to add a bushing to my setup (i'm a tool and die maker by trade). My only question is what is the best material to use for a bushing?? I am not worried about the machining part, that will be quite easy for me.. just what type of material would hold up to that heat? Would i be better with a hardened bronze, nylatron? etc.
