Cold idle issue....
1986 supercharged, cammed, AFR 195's, runners, intake, ported plenum, the works.
Here's my issue:
The car cranks, and fires fine. In open loop, I have difficulty keeping it running without forcing the idle up with the throttle. Once closed loop is attained, no more idle issues. I have reset my idle numerous times in attempt to find a sweet spot (I had it once, but I had to do some electrical work, and disconntected the battery, and it hasn't worked correctly since [I can't remember what other work I did at the time which may have contributed]).
I'm going to smoke the intake later to check for vacuum leaks (idles at about 17-18" of vacuum).
I'm thinking the heating element in my O2 might have dumped (heated O2 for the long tubes), or the power/ground wire has been interrupted at some point.
Just checking to see if this scenario is a viable cause for what I'm experiencing.
TIA
Interesting that you brought that up. The A/F guauge measures very lean in open loop. I never put the two together since I was focused on the O2. Looks like I'm in need of new programming, I guess.
