Im looking at lowering my car here pretty soon, and figure I would change the shocks as well. What is the best to get or do I just stay with Bilstiens? I was thinking of Edelbrocks but would like feedback from everyone on what they have used and how they liked them. Thanks in advance.:)
BTW, Edelbrock IAS shocks have 1" less travel built "out" of them. If you lower your vette and use these shocks (which have the body mounted upside down) you will bottom it out on the poly busing inside the boot, eventually breaking it, then will beat it till the seal breaks and leak oil all over the drive way (remeber the shock body is upside down) .....they do not honor the warranty for this even though they took the liberty of reducing the shock travel from stock and not telling you about it or warning you about lowered cars. This is a true story.
BTW2...how do you think you get a smooth ride with less body roll during hard corners with edelbrocks? Give up? (and don't say inertia valving!) What you get is a basic shock with less travel then factory, and a poly bushing in the boot. What happens is the travel they leave you with is enough for everydays bumps and small pot holes without fully compressing the shock, but when you start to push the car into the turns and it leans, the 1" extra travel you had in the old shocks would have let the car lean more, but now because now you are resting on the bushing with the edelbrocks the car's suspension is effectively bottomed out. Voila!
