I am in the mist of re assembly. It's going along as smoothly as can be expected, I guess.

I went to mount the air conditioning bracket and found out that the heads do not have provisions for the second bolt in the bracket.

I was with a friend today and told him of this problem. He said that he had the same problem (he builds a lot of vehicles).

Turns out that there's two kinds of bolt patterns on the heads. One for the serpentine setup and one for V Belts. That's why the hole was missing. The serpentine setup requires the extra hole.

I called Brodix to see how deep to drill out the hole. Truth of the matter is even if I drilled through the water jacket it's not a big deal. They told me the holes are supposed to be 5/8 inch deep.

So, with a hand drill, I took the bracket all the way off and drilled down 5/8 inch and tapped it 3/8-16. Now the bracket bolts up the way it should.

Just telling you guys so you know what to look for if you do heads and you don't have to do it the hard way like I did.

I got Protoplines a few years ago, same problem. I think I left that bolt out. Not a problem so far.

I was afraid of vibration and losing belts. Probably would not have mattered but better to do it now, while everything is apart, then have to take it all apart later.

That hose to the waterpump has to come off and it would be a mess.

You're just a wuss... (just kidding)
