LT4 cags eliminator

Old question for a new C4 owner. Can I simply unplug, or do I need a resistor? If yes, is it 2.2K ohms?

You can't just unplug it you to bypass it. I think the pigtail was about $12.

Well, it won't CAGS you if you just unplug it, but it will set a DTC and give you an MIL.

I'm glad all I had to do with my 1990 coupe is unplug the CAGS wires and tape up the ends. That second gear lock out was the most annoying thing. I can't believe the previous owners put up with it. Some damage might have occurred. It's sometimes difficult to put the transmission in second gear, especially on cold mornings.

Computer-Aided Gear Selection - it forces you to shift from 1st to 4th within a certain RPM and speed range, usually at the worst possible time - LMAO. It was a "feature" used to boost mileage ratings.
